SAFARI OVERVIEW:

This  8 days itinerary with 4 days safari will start to Materuni waterfall, Serengeti National Park for game drive and a hot balloon ride, to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, then to Lake Eyasi for cultural tour and lastly to Giraffe center. With this safari package you will see different animal biodiversity, explore beautiful landscapes, scenic view of birds, big trees and shrimps, birds of prey, cultural activity at Eyasi and so much more.

Day 1: Arrival, 53km

Arrive at Arusha city which will approximately be 1 hour drive. Upon arrival at Arusha Region, you will have options to do some activities such as coffee tour, city tour, museum tour, local market tour at your own arrangement, accommodation will be at KIBO PALACE HOTEL.

Day 2: Arusha to Materuni, 80km

(08:00h) Pick up from the Hotel in Arusha after breakfast, followed by 3hrs drive to the Materuni village located in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro and start your tour at a local coffee plantation farm where, you will learn to grow, roast and grind your own coffee, you will also take a nature walk to Materuni Waterfall. On the way to Materuni Waterfall you will get the opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grown as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life along the way. Then, the day trip will end with a refreshing dip in the natural pool and a delicious local lunch accompanied with local alcohol called Mbege from the village before heading back to KIBO PALACE HOTEL for overnight stay.

Day 3: Arusha to Serengeti, 383km

Enjoy early morning breakfast from the hotel and meeting with the guide at (07:30h) for a drive to Serengeti national park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area route which is approximately 7 hours’ drive depending on traffic jam and weather condition followed by a half day game drive at Serengeti National Park. The park is famous as is one of the national parks that hosts the great migration of wildebeest and one of the largest national parks in Tanzania with an area of 14,763 square km, Serengeti is a home for an abundance of wildlife and is one of the few parks where you can spot the big 5 animals and many carnivores together with birds of prey.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at SUENOS DE AFRICA LUXURY CAMP

DAY 4: Serengeti

Early in the morning at 5:00am you will be collected from your camp, and transfer to a launch site. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. During the flight your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon, sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. Hot air balloon safari is the ultimate Safari Experience at Serengeti especially during this time of the year. After landing you will have a Champaigne celebration and a certificate and drive to a break first site for a hot breakfast. After breakfast, you are taken to the rendezvous point to meet with your driver guide and continue with your full-day game drives at Serengeti. During this time of the year by chance you may come across a wide group of wildebeest proceeding with their migration cycle. In the evening, you will be driven back to SUENOS DE AFRICA LUXURY CAMP for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro, 228km

After breakfast, at (07:00h) you will have a morning game drive at Serengeti National Park where it will be easy to spot abundant group of animals especially predators such as lion, cheetah and leopards as they preferers to hunt in the cool of dawn and dusk. Then, you will head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight stay at EMBALAKAI AUTHENTIC CAMP.

DAY 6:  Ngorongoro to Lake Eyasi Lodge, 48.6km

After an early breakfast at (07:00h), collect your packed lunch boxes and descend to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Ngorongoro crater is a deep volcanic crater with about 200kms across, 600 kms deep and 300sq kms in area, this caldera is a breathtaking natural wonder as it is known as one of the 8^th Wonder of the World by UNESCO also it is listed as a protected area in world heritage site. Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting, The Big 5‟: i.e Lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Within the Protected are they are villages of Maasai who are allowed to coexisted with animals under sanction rules by the Government.

In the late evening, transferred to the lodge, for dinner and overnight at LAKE EYASI SAFARI LODGE

Day 7: Lake Eyasi to Arusha, 189km

(06:00h) Early in the morning before breakfast (packing breakfast box is optional), as you depart for hunting with Hadzabe tribe(bushmen) and learn and experience their lifestyle and culture as they will share their hunting techniques, honey harvesting and fire making. Then return to the lodge for breakfast followed by packing for check out. Later, in the afternoon you will have Lunch at the hotel (Packing lunch box is optional) then a visit to Datoga black smith village for cultural tour and departure to Arusha (4 hours drive).

Dinner and overnight stay at KIBO PALACE HOTEL.

Day 8: Giraffe Center, 28 km

Early after morning breakfast from the hotel at 08:00h meet your guide and depart to Giraffe center which is approximately 1 hour drive depending on traffic jam. After checking in at giraffe center your will learn about giraffes from one of the local guides at the area, you will also get to know variety of giraffes species and their habitants as you will be able to feed them and even kiss them while snaping some memorable photos. From the Giraffe center you will also get a chance to know how animal rescue team operates and how an individual can contribute to their mission. You will later have an option to have lunch in the center or in the city.

Later drive back to Arusha overnight stay will be at KIBO PALACE HOTEL.
