Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village : Anyone interested in experiencing a Maasai boma (a fortified residential compound) or learning about Maasai customs should visit Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village. A tiny educational museum, healing walks, spear-throwing instruction, and other activities are available. It’s a great place for families with little children to visit.
Visit Olpopongi, a Maasai community that has been built so that tourists can learn about the culture without interfering with the daily lives of the Maasai in their communities. You’ll eat a traditional lunch, go on a walking tour, discover how Maasai hunt, and learn about Maasai medicine. Private hotel transfers are included for enhanced comfort.
Elephants and giraffes freely traverse the village’s remote location (west of Kilimanjaro), which is shaded by Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, a remarkable and exhilarating experience. In the Tingatinga ward of Tanzania’s Longido district, the Olpopongi Maasai community is just outside of Tingatinga village. The Tingatinga ward is located on the country’s northern border and is a district of the Arusha area called Longido. Other than that, Olpopongi is situated deep within Maasai territory in a semi-arid region between the Kilimanjaro, Meru, and Longido mountains.
Traditional Maasai lodging is available at the Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village. You will have the opportunity to see Maasai daily life and discover what it means to be a “Maasai” in the Maasai community.

OLPOPONGI MAASAI VILLAGE TOUR
You will be picked up at your hotel and transported to the Olpopongi Maasai Village, where you will be given a tour of the village and museum to better understand Maasai culture and tradition, go on a brief walking safari to learn about the Maasai lifestyle, and learn about their traditional medicines. In the afternoon, a traditional lunch will be prepared for you. You will be taken to Kikuletwa (Chemka Hot spring) following your tour of the village. The Chemka oasis is unlike any other place in Tanzania (and probably all of East Africa), as it is the only one where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources to form a number of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water whose purity is comparable to the best Dominican or Maldivian resorts.
