Tanzania Luxury & High-End Safari

Luxury and high-end in Tanzania
Tanzania is a beautiful country where the landscape ranges from majestic volcanic mountains, endless open plains to white sandy beaches. From top to bottom and east to west, Tanzania offers an authentic East African safari experience: Big Five attractions, luxury tented safari camps and rich cultural encounters.

It is known to be home to large herds of migratory and resident wildlife and is also home to one of the world’s greatest natural attractions: the Great Migration, a destination that attracts safari lovers to life in safety.

In the north, scenic views such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park make the “Northern Circuit” equally remarkable.

In the western part of the country, chimpanzees can be found in two pockets of forest along Lake Tanganyika, the only place where you can walk in all of Tanzania. Meanwhile, the less-visited southern part of the country is a truly wild, remote wilderness. Start with a boat safari up the Rufiji River in Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) or join an integrated discovery safari in secluded Ruaha National Park.

Although a visit to Ngorongoro Crater can be crowded at certain times of the year, it is still a must see. We recommend Entamanu, a Maasai community eco-camp on the coast. (Pro tip: Go for game drives early in the morning and late at night).

Where to go on a luxury safari in Tanzania
In our opinion, the Grumet Game Reserve (located next to the Serengeti National Park and playing an important role in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem) is the cream of the crop – one of the most incredible places in all of Africa. Faru Faru Lodge is a beautiful modern campsite.

If you are not thinking of a big migration, we recommend that you visit the Northern Serengeti in the off-season (January to mid-March, June and November to mid-December). The scenery is simply amazing and most of the animals don’t migrate like wildebeest, so you have uninterrupted time with endemic wildlife like big cats and herds of squirrels.

What kind of wildlife will I see on safari in Tanzania?
Lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and African buffalo call Tanzania home.

East Africa is a stronghold of lions, seen in many national parks, but especially in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Ruaha National Parks. Monkeys and tigers can be found in the Serengeti, and the latter also prefer Nyerere National Park. Tanzania also has large and productive elephant populations in the Tarangire, Ruaha and Serengeti.

Monkeys (Masai and Rothschild’s giraffe), zebra and buffalo can also be found in parks across the country. The waters of Tanzania teem with hippos and crocodiles. And over time, millions of moose can be found roaming the country during the mass migration, along with deer and elk and the predators that follow them.
